We're a small outfit and we can't afford a big staff of editors and artists. So, we decided to push some of the work back onto the author, but compensate by offering much higher royalties (big houses only pay "newbies" around 7 1/2% and up to a max of 15% for proven authors).
- If you are writing a non-fiction work, it would help if you have "credentials" to back up your subject matter.
- Send an inquiry.
- If approved Clean up the mechanics of the manuscript by following our guidelines.
- Create a manuscript that reflects proper English usage (grammar, spelling, and punctuation), with the possible exception of dialog. We don't have time to babysit manuscripts that are full of errors. Turn on your word processor's spell checker and the grammar checker if it has one. Pay attention to the warnings. Look for properly spelled words that are still wrong ("to" instead of "too" for instance).
- Send your final mss with your artwork (cover art, internal illustrations) . See Publishing Requirements. We don't maintain an art department. If you need help here, ask.
In return, you'll receive royalties of 50% on net sales (after discounts). You set the price of your book (we'll offer advice, but the final decision is up to you).
We'll do a final edit and convert your manuscript to the various reader formats and include it in our catalog.
